A few months back, I penned an article for Motor Cycle News (MCN) about my Nepal adventure, featured in their inspiring Dream Ride section – the main highlight in the paper each week intended to motivate people to embark on their own adventures. It seems the piece resonated well, as they’ve invited me back! Who’d have thought it?

This time around, I decided to unravel the intricacies of my ‘amazing’ journey to Morocco with Bodge Tape Adventures. For those unfamiliar, Road to Morocco marked the beginning of it all for me. It was my first ever motorcycle venture abroad, my initiation into off-road, and the first attempt at filming anything. The series received a reception far beyond my expectations, and from that adventure, Ollie Moto emerged as you see him today!

What is in the article?

While the video series tells most of the story, there are aspects left untold. In the article (below) I dive deeper into the challenges, such as wrestling our bikes into and through a river when the road ahead was closed, dealing with Al breaking his ankle in the sand dunes at Erg Chebbi, and the uneasy experience of drilling my fuel cap out in Ourzazate. To this day, I still feel anxious when thinking about that drill, but hey, at least it got me home!
