For those that don’t know, I managed to break my shoulder last year whilst rescuing some orphans from a burning building* back in July, which put me out of action for a while, so I left the internet for a bit and went on a sabbatical. The most annoying thing about the break was that it was part of my shoulder joint, arguably the most complex joint in your body; due to me being a helicopter hero** I needed to get it sorted properly so opted for surgery, and this resulted in pretty intense physio for months to get it working again. I wouldn’t recommend it, it sucked, but on the plus side I did complete codeine.

What I got up to.

Although I did tick off a fair chunk of the Netflix catalogue and caught up on all my recorded racing, I also did some other stuff:

The 990 steering damper mount got fixed after breaking during the fall – massive thanks to Alon at TripleClamp Moto. A few of us went to the British Superbikes at Silverstone where my good friend Laura sorted out grid tickets, and a marshal told me off for eating a sandwich. MCN published a 4-page article that I wrote all about Road to Morocco, and then I blagged another one about Nepal. I went to the Goodwood Revival and managed to sneak my way into the Driver’s Lounge, so the celebs got to mingle with me. I was on the tele (BBC: Saving Lives at Sea) dangling under a helicopter and rescuing someone, which made my Mum proud. Oh and I went to the NEC and bought a really expensive helmet I don’t need, and bought a track bike.

There's more to come.

There’s always a lot of ideas floating around in my busy head. I hope to produce a lot more content and want my releases to be a bit more regular… well, that’s the aspiration but sometime life gets in the way! Let me know if there’s anything in particular you’d like to see in a video and I’ll see what I can do.

Ciao for now! Ollie.

* Did I say rescuing orphans? Soz, typo. I meant I fell off my 990.

** I’m no hero. My wife often says I’m special though.
